2017 No Bummer Summer

child-410079__180.jpgThis summer will be unlike any other!  Join us as we create new memories, start new adventures and meet new friends! No Bummer Summer is open to all children ages 3-entering Grade 8. Children will be housed by grade where the activities and trips are age and developmentally appropriate. The program your child will be enrolled in correlates to the grade they are entering.

Staff are working hard on planning the best summer yet! Please come back towards the middle of February for more detailed information. 

Program Information

Kids’ Company offers full day programming for children helping them create memories they will carry with them for a lifetime.  Summer programming begins runs from May 31, 2017-August 18, 2017 closed on July 4. No Bummer Summer is open from 6:30am-6pm Monday-Friday.

Wave: Ages 3-5

The Wave is for children who are just beginning their preschool experience and/or will school be attending Kindergarten. Children will be provided with enrichment opportunities that will help prepare them for a full day experience. Throughout the summer, the children will participate in a wide variety of activities such as art, music, science, cooking, games, reading, outdoor play, practicing social skills and so much more. Children will have one event day, on Fridays, have visits from the librarian and weekly visits from 4-H.

Blast: Entering Grades K-1

The Blast features a variety of indoor and outdoor recreational activities and weekly events. We guarantee your child will have a fun and active summer. Children will be offered a variety of activities including art, science,cooking, music, outdoor play and gym time. Staff members create a balance of activity options to include large group, small group and individual choices. Children will have a weekly event day; Fridays, and weekly visits to the city pool as well as 4-H.

Halo: Entering Grades 2-5

Halo is designed for children who are ready to start receiving some additional independance. Staff will work with the group to offer a variety of enrichment and recreational choices that reflect the interests of the group and are age appropriate. Areas of activities could include; art, science, cooking, recreational play, games and team building.  Children will have two weekly event days, weekly visits to the city pool and 4-H.

Storm: Entering grades 5-8

Storm is designed with middle school children in mind. Students will enjoy hanging out with their friends in an environment that reflects their interests. Students will have more freedom to chose the activities offered. Staff will inspire learning through investigation and technology. Children will have two weekly event days and weekly visits to the city pool.

 ** Children entering Grades 5-8 will be given the opportunity to purchase a discounted Gold Season pass to Valleyfair for our weekly visits**

Weekly schedule

Each week the children are kept very busy and engaged in activities and field trips!  This is a very general schedule that you can use when planning. 

Each week the groups will have a special event; Wednesdays for Eagle View students and Thursdays for Raven Stream students.  Our weekly themes and most events have been set and confirmed, but please make note trips may change.  
2017 No Bummer Summer Weekly Themes and Events

Nutrition Services will be providing a HOT LUNCH option this summer. More information, including menus will be provided at the end of MArch as well as the chance to purchase punch cards. Fee for a hot lunch is $3.00.

Swimming lessons will be offered to Kids' Company participants on a first come first serve basis during the weeks of July 10-July 27. Lessons will take place for levels Preschool C-Level 5 prior to the start of open swim on your sites scheduled pool day. Please register here. 

Registration Information

No Bummer Summer is now taking registrations for summer of 2017.  Registration will close April 15th, 2017.  Contracts submitted after this date will be placed on a waiting list. If openings remain at the locations we will begin enrolling students with start date of Monday, June 5th.

Please note once you have submitted your contract you will receive a notification email confirming we have received your request. The contract will not begin until it has been approved by our Registration and Billing Coordinator and you have received a second email stating it has been approved.
