O’Neill Brothers’ Scholarship for the Arts

Are you pursuing your interest in the arts?
(dance, music, theatre, or any art!)
You are eligible to apply.
Paper applications are available in the Guidance Office.
All completed applications must be returned by 2:30 on Friday, April 27th.
No late applications will be accepted!

The New Prague Girls Fastpitch Association Scholarship

Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Graduating senior girls involved in the NPHS softball program are eligible to apply. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or better and be accepted to a 2 or 4 year post-secondary program. Due date is 3:00 pm April 20. NO late application will be accepted.

Elko New Market Fire Department Relief Association

Scholarship is open to NPHS seniors, who meet the following eligibility criteria:
Strong Academic Record: Applicant must have a B average or better
Volunteer Work: Applicant must provide information regarding volunteer service, community involvement, and/or service organizations
Career Choice: Applicant must have an intended area of study geared toward helping others, community service, EMS System (EMT, Medic,etc), Health Care, Emergency Management, Firefighting, Law Enforcement.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications must be returned by 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 26th. No late applications will be accepted.

Veseli Area Lions Club Scholarship

The Veseli Area Lions Club will be awarding one $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from New Prague High School. Student must be accepted to a 2 or 4 year post secondary program. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Applications are available in the Guidance Office. Applications are due on or before 3:00 pm April 27th

Horatio Alger Scholarship Program

Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

Eligibility Criteria:
 Have completed high school (or earned a high school equivalency credential)
Will be enrolled in eligible program in Fall 2018
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical program (up to 2 years) at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States
Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
Be under the age of 30
Be a United States citizen

New Prague Area Chapter of PFLAG Scholarship

PFLAG is a national organization which promotes education, support and advocacy to the LGBTQ community.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Senior who will be pursuing a degree at any post-secondary school including associates degree or technical college.
  • Will graduate from New Prague High School in spring of 2018
  • PSEO through New Prague High School allowed
  • Student who identifies as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer or anywhere within the LGBTQ “family” OR are an ALLY.
  • We have no GPA minimum requirement
  • APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 30th, 2018-submit to Cheryl Turek

CardRates.com Financial Futures Scholarship

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • Majoring in business, accounting, finance, mathematics, management, and others related to the personal finance industry
  • Must be a U.S. resident
  • Must send in an official transcript
  • Must be a current or future college student (e.g., high school senior)
  • Scholarship must go to tuition purposes (will be paid directly to the university/college)
  • Complete an essay for submission

Minnesota Darkhouse and Angling Association Scholarship

Applicants must be pursuing a two or four year degree in a natural resource field or closely related field during the 2018-2019 school year.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Deadline is  April 30th.

John Kottke “You Can’t Hurt Steel” Memorial Scholarship 

Applicants must have participated in boys or girls hockey, boys or girls basketball, boys soccer, or boys or girls golf in his/her high school career.

Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Completed applications must be returned before 3:00pm on April 26, 2018. 

Experimental Aircraft Association Scholarship

The Minnesota Valley Chapter 642 of the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. is offering a scholarship to assist high of southern MN area who have an interest in learning to fly or acquiring the skill to build or repair aircraft.  The applicant does not have to be pursuing solely an aviation career.  Application forms are online at www.642.eaachapter.org  Applications must be returned by May 15, 2018

Lance Corporal Dale W. Means Scholarship

The Two-Eagles Detachment, Marine Corps League, is accepting applications for our LCpl Dale Wayne
Means Scholarship for the 2018/2019 school year. Individuals meeting the following criteria are welcomed
and encouraged to apply:
The applicant is currently serving on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, or the
United States Navy as a Corpsman or Chaplain attached to a United States Marine Corps
(FMF) unit, or, has served in this capacity and has received an honorable discharge, a
general discharge under honorable conditions, or retired under honorable conditions.
OR
Any individual having a member of their immediate family (parent, step-parent, foster-parent,
grandparent, spouse or 1st generation aunt or uncle) currently serving in the United
States Marine Corps, or the United States Navy as a Corpsman or Chaplain attached to a
United States Marine Corps (FMF) unit, or who served in this capacity and received an
honorable discharge, a general discharge under honorable conditions, or retired under
honorable conditions.
AND
The applicant is a resident of the State of Minnesota.

2018 Minnesota AFL-CIO Scholarships

The Minnesota AFL-CIO sponsors scholarships for high school seniors graduating in 2018.  There are three requirements for the Minnesota    AFL-CIO scholarships.  To be eligible, you must:

  • be a union member or a dependent of a union member whose local union is affiliated with the Minnesota AFL-CIO
  • have a straight "B" average or better (3.0)
  • attend a post secondary institution within the state of Minnesota

Paper applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked no later than April 30, 2018

Masonic Lodge Scholarship

Minnesota River Valley Masonic Lodge No. 6 is offering a scholarship opportunity for area  graduating seniors.  Requirements and applications can be found in the Guidance Office or on Naviance/Scholarships.  Completed applications must be returned before May 1, 2018.

The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women

Scholarship are awarded quarterly to young women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals.

Here is a brief summary of the eligibility requirements:
• Award: $1,000
• Quarterly Deadlines: January 1, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th every year
• Eligibility:
+ Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current graduate student at a 4-year, 2-year, vocational, or technical school in the United States.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
+ Must identify as female.
+ We welcome all majors and GPAs to apply!
