Peek at Our Week

So thankful for them!

Dec. 11-15

Here's to our last full week of school before Christmas break. I try to keep things as scheduled and structured as possible during these weeks leading up to Christmas. You can imagine the extra energy and excitement everyone has this time of year for this age group. Please help your child by keeping a consistent bedtime routine as possible, as well as, keeping active and eating healthy! Don't judge me too hard if I'm eating a cookie as I'm typing this.... : )

Scholastic Book Orders - Last day to order before Christmas is Tuesday, Dec. 12 - These books are a great way to expand your child's library. If you would like to order anything and keep it a secret, I can leave the items in the office for you to pick up at a time that works for you. I promise I won't tell your child. : )

Raven Stream Food Drive - Our school will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Peace Center Food Shelf of New Prague. The Food Drive will begin Wednesday, December 13 and end on Wednesday, December 20.

Gingerbread House Building - On the morning of Thursday, Dec. 21, our class will be building and decorating gingerbread houses in our classroom. It's a fun activity and parents are invited. We'll plan on starting around 10:30 and finishing up before lunch. Hope you can make it. Please send a gallon sized ice cream bucket with a lid to ensure your child's "house" makes it home safely. I love this time of year, because I always have a reason to buy ice cream! : )

Addition Time Tests - Addition time tests will be given 1-2 times a week. Your can help your child with his/her math fluency by practicing addition facts at home. There are great apps or even "old school" flash cards that work great for practice.
