Expanded Childcare for Tier 2 Essential Workers

We have been successfully providing care to students of emergency and healthcare workers (now defined as Essential Tier 1 Workers) since Monday. Updated guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education directs us to provide childcare to “Essential Tier 2 Workers” if we are able to do so while adhering to the Minnesota Department of Health’s social distancing guidelines. These workers include educators, gas and electric utility workers, food distribution personnel, water treatment staff, and others that are essential to ensure the pubic continues to receive vital services. There is no charge for this childcare service and they receive lunch at no cost as well.

If you are interested in receiving these services, please complete this form. We may not be able to serve all needs as we have limited space due to the social distancing guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health. This service will not start until Monday, March 23rd and you will be notified if we are able to serve your children.

Starting Thursday, March 19th we started doing health screenings for COVID-19 symptoms (fever, cough, etc.) for all children before they enter the childcare area. We also screen during the day and prior to leaving. We are doing this to protect all the children in our care. We ask that you not try to mask a fever with fever reducer, as this is dangerous for other children and families.

Thank you for everything you are doing individually to aid in this pandemic. The District is committed to doing what’s right and serving our community.
