SEEDS of Learning

Through community education outreach, SEEDS training is provided to home and center-based childcare providers and preschools within the New Prague Area Schools boundaries.  The curriculum used is the SEEDS of Literacy for 1-3 years olds and 3-5 year olds.  This curriculum focuses on developing literacy rich environments, schedules, transitions and activities that are appropriate for early learning settings.  The seven hour training includes classroom sessions and site visits. The SEEDS model is an interactive, skills-focused curriculum based on current research in early childhood education, child development, emergent literacy, and effective teaching. SEEDS prepares educators and parents to help the children in their care develop the early literacy skills and the social/emotional foundation they need to be ready for kindergarten.
