NPHS Continues to Significantly Exceed State Average in Graduation Rates

According to Minnesota Department of Education data released Wednesday, May 7, 95.1% of New Prague Senior High students graduated within four years of the 2025 cohort. The data well exceeds the 2025 state average of 84.9%. Of the 303 New Prague Senior High students in the graduating class of 2025, 288 graduated, 5 dropped out, 9 are continuing, and 1 status is unknown. Some students are eligible to continue to access public school education services up to the age of 22.

Minnesota Education Commissioner Willie Jett commended educators, families and community members for helping students to overcome challenges to earn their diplomas. “To the graduates of the class of 2025, we are proud of each of you. ... You will carry your achievements with you until the next phase of your lives,” he added.

Jett attributed the state’s record-high rate to increased engagement. Students report feeling there are teachers and others who care about them, he said, as well as adults in school who help to connect them to postsecondary career and educational opportunities.
