A Message From The Superintendent
Dear NPAS Families,
As we enter the heart of the Holiday Season, I want to extend our collective gratitude to each of you for the enthusiastic support and partnership you continually show for our students, staff and school communities. This time of year naturally encourages reflection, and as I look back on the past several months, I am thankful for the commitment and generosity that define the New Prague Area Schools’ community.
One of the most significant milestones this fall has been the passage of our Proud Tradition AND Promising Future Operating Referendum. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our families, staff, and greater community, we will be able to strengthen our financial foundation in meaningful and lasting ways. Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, the referendum will increase per-pupil funding by $510 per student, generating approximately $2 million annually for the next 10 years.
This investment ensures that NPAS can maintain financial stability, protect the high-quality programming our learners deserve, and avoid the budget reductions that would have impacted classrooms, staffing, and student opportunities. Just as importantly, the funding will help us continue offering consistent programs, uphold manageable class sizes, and support the wide range of academic, social-emotional, and extracurricular experiences that make our district special.
The success of this referendum was truly a total team effort—from the countless hours of volunteers who helped share information, to the many community members who engaged in conversations, asked questions, and ultimately cast their vote in support of our students. Your trust in our schools, and your belief in the future of NPAS, will make a direct and positive impact on current and future students and families.
Our theme for the 2025-2026 school year is, Better Together. As we look ahead to the second half of the school year, this theme feels alive and well in our daily interactions as well as the spirit of collaboration that made this referendum possible. I am grateful to work alongside such dedicated communities and wish each of you a meaningful and joy-filled Holiday Season.
Sincerely,
Dr. Andrew Vollmuth
