A Message From The Superintendent
Dear families,
Greetings and hope this latest communication finds you and your family well. In addition to providing excellent educational opportunities for our students, it is also critically important that we maintain high-quality operations that support and enhance student learning. With this in mind, we recently worked to update our long-term facilities plan. This plan details the deferred maintenance needs in all of our buildings, as well as helps identify current and future needs, based on student enrollment patterns and changes to educational programs.
The next step in the process is to prioritize our future facility needs. We plan to accomplish this by creating a Facilities Planning Task Force. This group will be comprised of school staff, families, and community members. Once identified, they will meet throughout the Winter to prioritize needs and make a recommendation that reflects our community values. The School Board will then take this information and decide the most appropriate next steps. An application process, as well as more detailed information, will be available on our school district website in early January and we hope that you will find a way to stay involved in the process as much as possible in the months to come.
Finally, on behalf of the New Prague Area Schools’ community, best wishes for a happy Holiday Season! I hope you have a productive month, and then have dedicated time to connect with both friends and families at the end of the month as we pause to celebrate.
Thank you for your continued and enthusiastic support of the New Prague Area Schools!
Best Wishes,
Andy Vollmuth

DISTRICT NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
ATTENTION BUS RIDERS:
Students need to be ready to get on the school bus as soon as the bus pulls up to the stop. We have had a rise in students waiting in cars or houses until the bus pulls up, which is holding up traffic and causing our buses to be late to the next stops and to school. Students should be ready and waiting for the bus five minutes prior to their normal pick up time.
Blended Learning Day
A Blended Learning Day is an opportunity for students to continue learning when school has been canceled due to inclement weather. Teachers provide lessons that may have a “blend” of online or traditional paper/pencil activities. If a student is unable to complete the lessons due to an illness or other circumstance, their parent should call the attendance line to notify the school of their child's "absence." Reported absences will follow the same protocols as a regular school day. We encourage families to bookmark this site for future reference!
