FROM OUR SUPERINTENDENT
Dear Staff,
I hope this message finds you all well, and remember that spring is right around the corner. I want to address questions and concerns I have received regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities following events in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and other metro communities over the past several weeks. While the direct impact on our specific community has been limited thus far, we recognize that this is a significant and sensitive issue across the state of Minnesota.
As a reminder, our primary goal is to ensure a safe and supportive environment for every student, family, and staff member. To that end, I would like to share the following regarding our district's position and preparation:
- Priority on Safety: The safety of our students, families, and staff remains our utmost priority. We maintain a strong partnership with local law enforcement and are staying in close contact with them to monitor the situation.
- Administrative Readiness: Our administration is well-informed regarding practices related to immigration matters. The District office is fully prepared to provide guidance and support to our schools as needed.
- Support for Wellbeing and Belonging: Fostering a sense of belonging is central to our mission. Our staff’s commitment to building strong relationships with students and families is more important now than ever. Our student services teams are available as a resource, and I encourage anyone needing support during these uncertain times to reach out to a member of the administration or our student support teams.
- Adaptive Response: Because circumstances can change quickly, our response will remain fluid. We will continue to adapt based on the evolving needs of our students and the most current information available to us.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our students and for maintaining a welcoming environment for all members of our school community.
As January comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize our dedicated School Board members for School Board Appreciation Month. These individuals volunteer countless hours to guide our district toward excellence and ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed. Please join me in thanking: Dennis Havlicek, School Board Chair; Kim Holden, School Board Vice Chair; Dan Call, School Board Clerk; Karen Steinhoff, School Board Treasurer; Ann Christy, School Board Director; Carrie Cuff, School Board Director; and Jean Schmidt, School Board Director
Take care and Go Trojans!
Sincerely,
Andy Vollmuth

DISTRICT NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
WELLNESS BINGO!
In February, we are doing a Wellness Bingo Challenge!
This is a fun way to encourage staff wellness while focusing on physical, mental, and social well-being, especially during a busy time of year. Small habits can make a big difference, and we hope this gives everyone a positive boost!
Complete all 25 squares by March 2nd to be entered into a drawing to win a one-night stay and breakfast for two at the St. James Hotel in Red Wing, MN. Please send completed bingo cards to Lindsay Pape: [email protected]
CPR TRAINING
New Prague Area Schools is proud to offer American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/AED training! This hands-on course teaches life-saving skills, including CPR, basic first aid, and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) for adults, children, and infants. No medical experience is needed, just the desire to be prepared. Participants will leave feeling confident in their ability to respond during an emergency and will receive an official AHA completion card.
Sessions are capped; register today! All sessions must have 8 people registered per class to proceed; otherwise, they are subject to cancellation.
