A Message From The Superintendent
Dear families,
I hope this message finds you well! The beginning of the school year is always a blur, and I do hope your family is settling into your school year routines as we enter the second full month of the academic year. Later on this month, each of our schools will be hosting opportunities for families to conference with their child’s teacher(s). At the elementary level, these conferences will occur on October 10, 14 & 16. Secondary conferences are scheduled for October 24 and 29. More information will be forthcoming from the respective schools in the near future, and I hope you will make these conferences a priority for your family.
Research continually reinforces the importance of parental involvement in a child’s education. In fact, researcher John Hattie has found that family involvement can be equivalent to adding 2-3 years to a student’s education. With this in mind, and beyond these conference opportunities, I encourage you to find whatever means possible to stay involved throughout the duration of this academic year. Whether it be volunteering at school, establishing routines for completing homework, or just dedicating time to having quality discussions about what your student is learning, your active involvement helps create positive learning for your child, as well as other students.
If questions arise throughout the year, reach out to your child’s teacher(s) to gather more information and seek understanding prior to coming to any conclusions. If you have further questions after doing so, I would then encourage you to reach out to your respective building administrator. Keep in mind, that our collective goal is to work together as we strive to maximize the academic and social development of all students.
On behalf of our students and staff, thank you for your continued, enthusiastic support of the New Prague Area Schools - Go Trojans!
Sincerely,
Andrew Vollmuth

Digital Tools
NPAS uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Schools are now required by MN State Statute 2020, section 13.32, Subd. 14 to notify students and families of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools. This web page will be updated within 30 days of our first day of school and will include an inventory of our digital learning tools.
